737 Team Leader – ASO Melbourne

Expressions of interest are sought for a suitable individual as a part-time Team Leader - Aircraft Support Officer for our Domestic B737 operations at Melbourne Airport. Reporting to:This position reports to the Ramp & Catering Manager. Position responsibilities:Undertake the duties of an Aircraft Support OfficerAbility to work without supervisionDemonstrate leadership, decision making and organisational skills necessary to sufficiently manage a dynamic operationThe direct supervision and oversight of aircraft arrivals and departuresSupervision and management of a team of ASO’sEnsuring all staff under supervision conduct their duties in accordance with company policies and proceduresResponsible for briefing ASO’s with regard to operational mattersResponsible for ensuring that aircraft are loaded/unloaded and handled safely including personally checking the completion of safety critical tasksResponsible for reporting opportunities for improvement to the Leading Hand or Ramp ManagerCoordinating the timely transfer of tranship bagsCompletion of GSE checks to ensure equipment serviceabilityAircraft de-icingResponsible for aircraft pushbackResponsible for signing aircraft documentation certifying that the aircraft has been loaded/unloaded/handled in accordance with policies and proceduresResponsible for the collection, consignment and correct loading/unloading of company and third party freightResponsible for the use of the Load Manager application and manual alternativesAssisting special needs passengers when requiredEnsure that equipment is stored correctly when not in useBe accountable for the adherence to and reporting of On Time PerformanceDetermine and report on the appropriate delay code for a delayed departureReporting of GSE faultsCompletion of administrative reporting duties such as shift reportsAssisting with incident investigationProvide training assistance to new staffManage communication between other operational departments such as Network Operations, Catering, Customer Service and EngineeringAssisting the replacement of staff due to leave so it does not affect operational requirements.Required to remain on site until the completion of allocated dutiesAct as a Relief Leading Hand when requiredOther tasks as requested by the Ramp Manager.Selection Criteria:Experience in a supervisory roleAirline/Industry experienceAble to obtain and hold an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) and airside driver’s licenseExcellent communication skillsHigh standard of professionalismAble to work shift work that includes early starts, evenings and weekend workMandatory requirement of state drivers licenceHigh standard of physical fitnessAbility to work in a team environment and a commitment to on time performance To Apply:Please forward your resume and cover letter addressing the selection criteria to jobsrexgroup@rex.com.au by 20 April 2024. REX is an equal opportunity employer AUD Melbourne 3004
