We're seeking an experienced and motivated Engine Workshop Supervisor to lead our Engine Shop and Wheel Bay teams at our Wagga Wagga base. This is a full-time position.
This hands-on supervisory position offers the opportunity to manage skilled technicians, optimise workshop operations, and contribute directly to aircraft component reliability and on-time performance.
Reporting:
This position reports to the Base Maintenance Supervisor.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of workshop technicians in the repair, servicing, and overhaul of gas turbine engines (primarily GE CT7 series), batteries, wheels, and brakes.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, tooling, equipment, technical data, and aeronautical products to ensure timely completion of all workshop maintenance tasks with minimal overdues.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality and airworthiness for all components repaired or overhauled in the workshop.
- Monitor resource utilisation to optimise efficiency, control costs, and reduce waste.
- Participate in internal and external audits; identify and help resolve any deficiencies in quality, safety, or compliance systems.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure full adherence to WHS procedures and aviation regulations.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the BMS or Regional Maintenance Manager.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- At least 5 years' hands-on experience in gas turbine engine workshop environments (repair, overhaul, testing).
- Proven mechanical aptitude and technical expertise in aircraft component maintenance.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance/engineering setting, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Sound working knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. maintenance tracking systems, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).
- High level of visual acuity (including colour vision where required for inspections).
- Willingness to relocate to Wagga Wagga, NSW (regional lifestyle benefits include affordable living, outdoor activities, and a supportive community).
Preferred Selection Criteria:
- 2+ years' specific experience with GE CT7 or T700 series engines.
- Current Australian CASA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (Mechanical â B1 or equivalent).
- Type rating/licence/endorsement on Saab 340 aircraft or components.
