The Opportunity
AAPM is seeking a motivated Aircraft Propeller Technician to join our workshop team in Dingley. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, a hands-on mindset, and a genuine interest in aviation or precision mechanical work. No prior aircraft experience is required as full training will be provided under the guidance of experienced technicians. However prior aviation experience may be an advantage in fast tracking regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with disassembly, inspection, cleaning, repair, and assembly of aircraft propellers and components
- Use hand tools, measuring equipment, and specialised tooling in accordance with approved procedures
- Maintain accurate records and job documentation as required in a regulated aviation environment
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with component Maintenance Manuals, company procedures, and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area
- Support workshop operations and assist senior technicians as required
Selection Criteria
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, automotive, trade, or engineering work (highly regarded)
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
- Willingness to learn composite propeller repairs.
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Basic computer skills for job recording and documentation
- Current Driver’s Licence
Desirable (but not essential)
- Certificate II / III in Engineering, Mechanical Trade, or similar
- Experience in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, or precision assembly environments
- Interest in pursuing a long-term career in aircraft maintenance
