Aircraft Support Officer – Leading Hand 737

Expressions of interest are sought for a suitably qualified individual to join the Sydney Ramp team in the full time role of Leading Hand - Aircraft Support Officer for our Domestic B737 operations.Reporting to:This position reports to the Sydney Ramp Manager.Position responsibilities:Responsible for all 737 apron functions when on shiftUndertake the duties of a Team Leader when requiredThe direct supervision of on shift 737 Team Leaders and ASO staffProviding assistance to the Ramp Manager with administrative and reporting requirementsResponsible for towing of aircraft when repositioning is required including liaising with Engineering, Network Operations and the relevant Airport authorityEnsuring all staff are acting in compliance with company policies and proceduresArrange coverage of staff sick leave to ensure there is no impact to operationsManagement of staff overtime to ensure shifts are covered correctly and allocation of overtime is equitableOversee Catering functions on apronOversee Freight functions on apronResponsible for liaising with other departments and suppliers to manage day to day matters such as GSE serviceabilityEnsure all GSE checks are undertaken and faults reported accordinglyAssist with the training and induction of new staffUndertake basic audits to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with company policies and proceduresProvide operational assistance when required by assisting with loading/unloading or other turnaround dutiesRequired to remain on site until the completion of allocated dutiesOther tasks as requested by the Ramp ManagerSelection Criteria:Experience in a supervisory roleAirline/Industry experienceAble to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) and airside driver’s licenseExcellent communication skillsHigh standard of professionalismAble to work shift work that includes early starts, evenings and weekend workMandatory requirement of state drivers licenceHigh standard of physical fitnessAbility to work in a team environment and a commitment to on time performanceWillingness to work additional hours as operationally requiredTo apply:Please apply via the 'Apply Now' button below.Regional Express is an equal opportunity employer  AUD Sydney 2000

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Airline/Industry experience
  • Able to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) and airside driver’s license
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High standard of professionalism
  • Able to work shift work that includes early starts, evenings and weekend work
  • Mandatory requirement of state drivers licence
  • High standard of physical fitness
  • Ability to work in a team environment and a commitment to on time performance
  • Willingness to work additional hours as operationally required
