Aircraft Support Officer – Melbourne

Rex are currently expanding our network and require Aircraft Support Officers to facilitate the B737-800 and Saab 340 operations. These positions will be permanent part-time, based at Melbourne Airport.Reporting:This position reports to the Ramp Manager, Melbourne Airport.Position responsibilitiesReceipt and Dispatch of aircraft.Aircraft towing and repositioning.Aircraft push-back.The safe operation of GSE, including toilet servicing, replenishing potable water, ground power unit operation, air conditioning carts and other relevant GSE for aircraft turnaround.Aircraft loading and unloading, completion of relevant documentation and stowage of customer’s baggage, inter-company freight and handling of cargo.Sorting of checked baggage and reconciliation of baggage numbers per flight.Marshalling of aircraft (when required).Passenger Marshalling.Aircraft cleaning including termination cleans & incident cleans.Operate radio communication equipment.Assisting special needs customers.Assist with Catering duties when requiredOther duties as requested by the Airport Manager and Ramp Manager.Selection CriteriaPrevious jet airline experience is essential (preferably on B737-800).Current Driver’s Licence.Able to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) and airside drivers licence.Able to work shift work that includes early starts, evenings and weekend work.High standard of physical fitness.High standard of professionalism.Ability to work in a team environment and a commitment to on time performance.Ability to work in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditionsConditions: Conditions and wages are as per the Airline Operations Ground Staff Award 2010.To apply: Please forward a copy of your CV and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria via our website https://careers.rex.com.au/job-details/query/8030348 by Sunday, 10th January 2021.   AUD Melbourne
