This position will be based in Sydney, NSW or Adelaide, SA.Reporting:This position reports to the National Flight Attendant Manager.Position Responsibilities:The Regional Assistant Flight Attendant Manager (AFAM) is a management position with sufficient rostered flying hours to maintain appropriate competency and familiarisation with company operations commensurate with the need to exercise management and administrative responsibilities.The duties of the Assistant Flight Attendant Manager (S340/Regional) include assisting the National Flight Attendant Manager (NFAM) as a direct second in charge, and maintaining currency as a Check and Training Flight Attendant.Key accountabilities include:Overall management of the SAAB/Regional Flight Attendant Department in the absence of the NFAMProvision of information on implementation of new services, trend in customer needs and overall in flight observation of products deliveryOffering guidance as requiredMonitoring and maintenance of high standards in grooming and personal presentationPrompt action in resolving problemsLiaise with Flight Attendant Line Supervisors, internal and external stakeholders Assisting the NFAM with recruitment ensuring a benchmark of excellence is set for the recruitment of new Flight AttendantsCompiling reports and other relevant documentation as requested by the NFAMOrganise and chair both individual and group staff meetings as requiredAssisting the NFAM with special projectsThe supervision of Check & Training and Training Flight Attendants as applicable and the implementation of training and checking programmes for Flight AttendantsThe development of Check and Training procedures for the Flight AttendantsImplementation and standardisation of safety procedures on board the Rex fleet within type.Essential Selection Criteria:minimum of 12 months’ experience as a solo Flight Attendantsound knowledge of CASA Regulations knowledge of the applicable Regional Express Flight Attendants’ Agreementability to work on many tasks simultaneously and autonomouslyproactive and effective communication skills (both written and verbal)well-developed planning and problem solving skillsexcellent time management skills whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detailflexibility with regards to working hoursdiscretionprevious experience managing large numbers of staff in several locationsdemonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external stake holdersaccuracy and attention to detailcomputer skills â required to work using Microsoft (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and MerlotPreferred Selection Criteria:previous experience with HR related mattersExperience in assessing development needs and developing strategies.Airline experience in a learning and development service delivery roleDirect ReportsFlight Attendant Supervisors; located across the network.Conditions: Remuneration will be discussed with the successful applicant.To Apply: Please submit your application with CV and cover letter by Sunday, 17 October 2021.Applications must address all of the Key Selection Criteria (applications will not be progressed if the key selection criteria, both essential and preferred, are not addressed).
