Engineering Lead Auditor

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and highly experienced individual to join the Rex Group Engineering team as the Lead Auditor. Position Role and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing checklists for use in both internal and external audits
  • Conducting internal audits of the CAMO, AMO and CAR 30 operations
  • Acting as lead auditor or assisting during audits
  • Conducting external audits of subcontractors to assess the suitability of subcontractors to perform contracted tasks  
  • Compiling audit reports
  • Liaising with external authorities during third party audits as required
  • Investigating safety related engineering events and distributing the report as required
  • Managing open engineering findings
  • Monitoring the receipt of and the following up of engineering RCA response/ s within the time frame identified on the RCA
  • Performing tasks as directed by the Quality Manager/Safety Manager.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Possess an Engineering background, preferably in the aviation industry, with practical experience as an AME/LAME or hold a Cert IV
  • Hold a formal qualification in quality management or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality management activities
  • Candidates will require a good working knowledge of the following regulations:
    • CAR 30 (1988)
    • CAR 42 (1988)
    • Part 42 (1998) Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations (CAMO)
    • Part 145 (1998) Approved Maintenance Organisations (AMO)
    • Part 147 (1998) Maintenance Training Organisations
    • Part 66 Licensing
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of engineering procedures and practices and have good working knowledge of the CASA regulations, standards and documents
  • Previous investigation and auditing experience
  • Advanced communication and report writing skills
  • Have successfully completed a recognised Lead Auditor’s course
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
