Operations Controller – Pel-Air

Pel Air is recruiting for the full-time position of Operations Controller, located at Pel-Air Head Office in Mascot, NSW.  Reporting:Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Pel-Air Operations Controller plans, coordinates and monitors all charter (and some non-charter) flights and provides a central communication point for day to day operations.The applicant should be highly motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task and problem solve and be able to work as part of a team in a challenging environment. The Operations Controller position is a multi-faceted, full-time shift work role and involves the ability to be on call on weekends and as required on other days.Position Responsibilities:Oversee all Pel-Air Aviation daily operations and provide flight following for all flights.Working on a rotating roster to include on-call & specific duties when rostered to work on weekends.Oversee the travel and accommodation arrangements of the crew on duty and training.Update operational computer systems as required, including planning and building crew rosters.Liaise with handling agents, fuel agents and other parties to provide accurate information on all flights.Monitor flights for On Time Performance and reporting any delay reasons.Coordinate any disruptions with other Operations personnel. Formulate and action disruption plans. Liaise with other departments and affected ports to minimise disruptions to passengers.In the event of an emergency; initiate the company response plan and carry out duties as requested by the Pel-Air Aviation Emergency Response Team.Co-ordinate and assist Rex Group mainline operations centre staff as required.Assess feasibility of aircraft and flight schedule against client requirement and provide commercial quotation function to charter requests.Manage crew fatigue in accordance with Pel-Air FRMS.Carry out such duties as directed by the Operations Manager to assist in the day to day running of the Operations Centre.Key Selection Criteria:Able to work well independently and within a team environmentAbility to work shift work, including weekendsProblem solving skills and high level of work accuracyAbility to maintain efficiency under pressureCommercial acumen and high level of customer serviceHigh level of organisation skills with ability to prioritiseComputer literacy of a high degree and familiarity with Microsoft Office SuiteSuperior communication skills, both written and spokenPrevious experience in Airline or Charter Operations preferableTo Apply: Please submit your application with CV and cover letter via our careers page http://careers.pelair.com.au/job-details/query/8207509 by close of business Friday, 25 June 2021.Applications must be submitted via the link above to be considered.
