Rex is Australia’s largest independent regional and domestic airline operating a fleet of 60 Saab 340 and six Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to 61 destinations throughout all states in Australia. In addition to the airline Rex, the Rex Group comprises wholly owned subsidiaries Pel-Air Aviation (air freight, aeromedical and charter operator) and the two pilot academies, Australian Airline Pilot Academy in Wagga Wagga and Ballarat.An excellent opportunity exists for a suitably qualified individual to join Rex in the role of Ramp Manager at Sydney Airport. This is a full-time position reporting to the Sydney Airport Manager and National Airports Manager and involves the direct oversight of Rex’s team of Aircraft Support Officers.Position responsibilities:Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff, planning and evaluating department activities.Maintains staffing levels by recruiting, selecting and planning of training and developmentEnsure a high level of work ethic, culture and grooming standards are met.Ensures a safe, secure and legal working environment by adhering to company Ramp Standard Operating Procedures and safety Protocols set out by the company.Identifies and develops personal growth opportunities.Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, monitoring and appraising job results.Coaches, councils, and disciplines employees whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism.Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial and operational information.Determine and maintain the necessary and appropriate amount of equipment required to fulfil the operational needs.Compile staff rosters and monitor daily staff utilization necessities.Manage payroll requirements for Ramp employees.Ensure serviceability and presentation of company equipment and facilities.Oversee mishandled, lost and damaged baggage and aircraft overnight cleaning when required.Liaise with airport authorities and external stakeholders (inclusive of attending meeting when required)Liaison with other company departments on operational matters when necessary.Ensuring compliance by staff with the company code of conductEnsuring compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS).Ensure high levels of work safety and compliance set out in the Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation.Demonstrate leadership, decision making and organisational skills.Selection Criteria:Experience in a managerial roleAirline/Industry experience (preferred)Demonstrated experience in leading, coaching and performance managementThe ability to work under pressureExcellent communication skillsAble to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) and airside drivers licenceMust possess a valid driver’s licenceProficiency with office softwareTo Apply:Please submit your CV and cover letter via our careers page link: https://careers.rex.com.au/job-details/query/8326399 by close of business Friday, 1 October 2021.You must apply via the link above by the closing date to be considered.
